Silverwing – October book club

Silverwing is a Canadian classic by Kenneth Oppel. Think Watership Down but with bats.

We decided to read Silverwing after hearing that Herrick District Library was hosting a bat workshop on October 31. Yup. Bats in the library.

We met for bagels and hot chocolate and talked about Shade and Goth and Frieda and Marina.

Then, we went to the library and learn so many cool things about bats. Who knew that there are 1,300 bat species?! That bats have hairy armpits? That most bats are fruit bats? That bats have 5 fingers?

Can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the trilogy!
